Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

A luxury travel advisor designs and manages customized vacations while securing VIP perks and acting as your advocate, often delivering value that exceeds the cost. Through our global relationships, including Virtuoso and luxury hotel programs, clients receive added benefits such as room upgrades, hotel credits, and priority service at the same rates available online. We also manage all logistics and support you before, during, and after your trip. Initial consultations are complimentary.

The cost of working with a luxury travel advisor depends on trip complexity, length, and planning requirements. Your initial consultation is complimentary, and any professional service fees are discussed transparently before planning begins. Many clients find that the exclusive amenities, upgrades, and time savings, often valued at $500 to $2,000 or more per trip, offset the planning investment.

A Virtuoso travel advisor provides the same rates as booking directly, plus exclusive perks and personal advocacy you do not receive when booking on your own. These benefits often include complimentary room upgrades, daily breakfast, hotel credits, onboard cruise credits, early check-in, late check-out, and priority support. Beyond amenities, your advisor manages details and resolves issues to ensure a seamless experience from planning through your return home.

Luxury cruises are best booked 12 to 24 months in advance to secure preferred suites and early booking benefits. Luxury land vacations typically require 6 to 12 months of planning, especially during peak seasons or at high-demand properties. For bucket-list trips such as African safaris, Antarctica expeditions, or the Galapagos, 12 to 18 months is ideal. Last-minute travel is possible, though availability may be limited and rates higher.

White Lotus Travel Design specializes in culinary and wine-focused travel, luxury river cruises, culturally immersive itineraries featuring local artisans and traditions, and custom-paced journeys tailored to each traveler’s style, from relaxed exploration to active adventures. Our expertise includes luxury land vacations, small-ship ocean cruises, expedition voyages, river cruises, yacht vacations, and luxury train travel, with a particular focus on Europe (especially Italy, France, and Greece).

“Leaning into traditional Sicilian decor and traditions is a special way to bring the Italian vacation spot into your home. “Buying a locally made piece is a great way to add a touch of Sicily to your home. One of my favorite things about Sicily is that local artisans still use methods and traditions that have been passed down for generations,” Josh Scheer with White Lotus Travel Design explains.”

What’s the most precious resource for a small business? Arguably, there are three: capital, customers and time.

Artificial intelligence is emerging as a technology that can act as a triple threat, addressing all three of these resources and making a small business look bigger in the process.

Andre Machicao, senior vice president at Visa Acceptance Solutions, and Josh Scheer, president and owner of White Lotus Travel Design, told Karen Webster that small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) can use AI to create marketing plans and product descriptions in minutes without a big marketing team to do it.
